Project Main Details

Hot Universe Trailer English
Approximate RT = 1:18

This 10 year anniversary trailer is for NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, a space-based mission launched on the shuttle on July 23, 1999. The informational 1-minute+ astronomy high definition video would be distributed for free via the web site as part of the education and outreach activities of the anniversary dates, and would likely be included in the iTunes and Adobe Media Player libraries as part of the award-winning video podcast series.

Most of the script is in English, but one line is in Latin, to be read phonetically. If we can afford 2 voices, the one line in Latin would be effective if read by a second voice.

Script Details

Sample for auditions:

In Florence, Italy, in the year 1609, the world changed.

Using a small telescope, Galileo proved that the Earth is not distinct from the universe, but part of it.

And he showed that there is much more to the universe than we see with the naked eye.

In the twentieth century, astronomers made another revolutionary discovery – that optical telescopes reveal only a portion of the universe.

Telescopes sensitive to invisible wavelengths of light have detected microwave radiation from the Big Bang

Infrared radiation from proto-planetary disks around stars

And X-rays from explosions produce by black holes.

Ten years ago this July, the most powerful telescope ever made began its exploration of the hot universe.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
