It begins with Willy, who is a great grandma times 6 at at the ripe ole age of 93.
But Willy is sad, because it was her time to go.
She is going to miss all the generations that made her so.
Instead of lying around waiting to pass,
Willy got an ole hair up her ass.
She requested to have Hospice come help her through these days.
For she wanted to live the rest of her life in her own special ways.
So they planned for a family picnic and started making the calls.
Doctors, nurses, family and staff helped organize it alls.
From one call to the next it was all being organized.
As Willy sat and watched and just smiled inside.
Family picnic day is here and Willy’s chariot had arrived.
She was picked up and shuttled to a park nearby.
Family members and friends showed up by the dozens.
All sorts of people including great cousins.
From great granddaughters to uncles to friends and Dads.
Even in laws Willy thought she never had.
Upon her arrival there were miles of smiles.
They came in different shapes, colors and all kinds of styles.
A sea of hugs and cheerful tears
That brought laughter and memories from many years.
Willy laughed and talked all through the day
There was nothing that she couldn’t say.
Willy’s picnic was just so perfectly right.
The people the food and all of the delight.
She enjoyed her company and all that it had brought
Everyone listen up, now here’s a deep thought.
For Willy who is dying, there would be no strife.
Because she chose Hospice for more moments of life.
