Project Main Details
Henry Hershey was Milton's father, a dreamer, tinkerer and alittle independent of the societal norm for the day 1880's. This read should be conversational, natural - not 'broadcasty" - and we hope you'll have fun with it - have no fear veering a little "off". A custom demo is needed.

“The Homestead” 2nd Draft 2/12/08
NOTE: Lighting around this structure will evoke a farmyard in Derry Township in the 1860s
LOOPING AMBIENCE: We will hear a low-level looping ambient sound track around the exterior of “The Homestead” structure that will feature barnyard sounds, circa 1860- including a rooster crowing, chickens clucking , maybe a farm horse in a field, birds singing in trees, mild breezes blowing through trees.
EXTERIOR PORT SOUNDS: We hear Henry Hershey and young Milton feeding chickens in the barnyard. We hear the chickens pecking at the feed. We may hear a goat braying in the background
We hear Fanny Hershey calling Henry and Milton to supper HENRY HERSHEY: Here, chick, chick, chick! That’s it, Milton. Toss that feed where they can peck it
FANNY HERSHEY: Henry? Bring Milton inside. It’s time for supper.
INTERIOR PORT SOUNDS: We hear the shuffling of dishes at the table, food being served. we hear toddler Milton in the background babbling.
INTERIOR CONVERSATION: Mixed with the above interior sounds we also hear the voices of Fanny and Henry in conversation… HENRY HERSHEY: Hmm…good soup.
FANNY HERSHEY: Well, it’s all we have today
HENRY HERSHEY: (Excited) Fanny, did I tell you? They’ve found more oil over in Titusville! If we move quickly, we could …
FANNY: (interrupts him) Henry? Is this another of your crazy schemes?
HENRY: I tell you there’s liquid gold over there. If we drill our own well, we could…
FANNY: You’re saying we’d leave the Homestead?
HENRY: Fanny, we could quit this farm and, in no time, we’d be rich!
FANNY: Henry Hershey, you are such a dreamer! Now eat, before your soup gets cold.
