[below are excerpts from various parts of the script including the first "history minute." please give an even read. not that much needs to be done with it. the testimonies carry most of the weight.]

Jews have lived in Europe since Biblical Times.

They follow the Bible. This text, is known to Christians as the Old Testament for Jews, it is the sole Testament.

The Jewish prophet, Moses led them out of slavery in ancient Egypt, into the desert to the edge of the Promised Land.

They believe in one God and pray in a synagogue whose centerpiece is the Torah.

The Jews of Europe lived in a variety of places, often for a millennia or more before the Holocaust.

Many felt a deep connection to their countries and had served in the military during WWI. Others were regarded with hostility by the countries in which they lived.

After Kristallnacht many Jews looked for a way to escape but they were unwelcome almost everywhere.

In March 1939, Germany took over the rest of Czechoslovakia. Hitler set his sites on the conquest of Europe.

On August 23rd, Hitler and Stalin agreed to divide Poland between Germany and the Soviet Union. Eight days later World War II began.

The war raged on. Germany began suffering heavy blows, first from the Soviet Union, which was on the advance westward, and then as the United States advanced eastward and north. With German defeat on the horizon they attempt to cover up their atrocities. They begin the forced evacuation of all remaining Extermination Camp survivors. Survivors called them Death Marches.

For those outside of the camps Liberation came differently. But now matter how they survived they now faced the challenge of rebuilding their lives.
