Project Main Details

Henry Rollins Imitation
I need talent to voice a character must sound similar to musician/actor Henry Rollins. He will be reading quotes from Benjamin Rush, a historical figure from the 17-1800s in a spec read for a proposed documentary. Punk/heavy metal music will be underneath the voice, thus the stylized read. A script is attached. The read should be aggressive.

Script Details

***custom demo required***
We see an image of Benjamin Rush sitting at his desk. We hear a voice over reciting Rush’s own words.
RUSH (V.O.) I am aware that the efforts of
science and humanity, in applying
their resources to the cure of a
disease induced by a vice, will
meet with a cold reception from
many people.

We see an image of Benjamin Rush.

RUSH (V.O.) Let us next attend to the chronic
effects of ardent spirits upon the
body and mind. The following are
the usual consequences of the
habitual use of ardent spirits:

We see an animation of a chef offering what’s on the menu. A patron throwing up.
RUSH (V.O.) A decay of appetite, sickness at
stomach and a puking of bile, or a
discharge of frothy and viscid
phlegm by hawking, in the morning.

We see images of cirrhosis of the liver.

RUSH (V.O.) Obstructions of the liver.

We see an image of John F. Kennedy recovering from jaundice.

RUSH (V.O.) Jaundice and dropsy of the belly
and limbs, and finally of every
cavity in the body. A swelling in
the feet and legs.

We see an image of a frog in an individuals throat.

RUSH (V.O.) Hoarseness, and a husky cough,
which often terminate in consumption,
and sometimes in an acute and fatal
disease of the lungs.
