I’m Dr. Jason – and this is Health Watch. Women need at least 20 grams of fiber and men need at least 30 grams of fiber every day for good health. You can increase the fiber in your diet by eating more fruits and beans. Pinto beans and kidney beans pack about 15 grams of fiber in every cup – and fruits like prunes and raspberries have about 8 grams of fiber in every cup. Increasing the amount of fiber you eat may help you prevent cancer and heart disease. ******************************************************
I’m Dr. Jason – and this is Health Watch. If you need to lower your cholesterol, I’d like to recommend eating these foods each day… Start with high fiber foods like Oatmeal and Oat Bran. You can also reduce your cholesterol by adding more fish and nuts to your diet. Finally, using Olive Oil in your cooking is another great way to help keep your cholesterol levels low. And of course, it’s not all about your diet… getting some daily exercise will go a long way in keeping your cholesterol in check. I’m Dr. Jason – Thanks for listening to Health Watch.
I’m Dr. Jason – and this is Health Watch. Did you know that certain foods can help improve your memory? It’s true! Foods that are high in Vitamin E like vegetable oil salad dressings, peanut butter and whole grains all contain powerful antioxidants that may protect against Alzheimers Disease. You can also get a good amount of Vitamin E from dark, green, leafy, vegetables like spinach, kale and broccoli. Enjoy more of these foods and you just might preserve your memory for years to come. I’m Dr. Jason – Thanks for listening to Health Watch.
