Welcome to Molina Medical!

Did you know that Molina Medical has been around for over 30 years? In fact, Molina Healthcare began in a small medical clinic in Long Beach, California. It was there that the Molina family children swept the floors, stocked shelves and filed medical records.
That year was 1980 and the healthcare environment was similar to that of today. Patients without a family physician would flock to emergency departments complaining of a sore throat or the flu. As an emergency room physician, Dr. C. David Molina knew that treating patients for simple everyday ailments in the emergency room cost more and caused longer waits for people with true emergencies.

As a result, Dr. Molina established a medical office to help those who were uninsured, non-English speaking or low income. This “medical home” enabled patients to access regular preventive care and a physician who was familiar with their health history who could provide the personalized care they couldn’t get anywhere else.

Join us as we give you a tour of our clinics. See how they fit into our future. And understand how Molina Medical is different.

Our company was started by a physician and is still run by a physician today. Because Molina Medical is on the frontline taking care of patients, that gives us special insight into our own patients and our network physicians.

Let us take you inside a typical Molina Medical clinic!

When first entering the clinic, the clean and spacious waiting room offers a comfortable seating area for our patients. We also have a roomy Kids Corner, where children can safely play while parents are in the exam room. Often our patients miss important doctor appointments because they don’t have a babysitter or one of their children is ill. With certified babysitting on site at the clinic, parents can rest assured that their child or children are safe while they take care of their own health.

Next, you will see our front and back office stations. When you visit a clinic for the first time, it could be intimidating or confusing. But Molina’s knowledgeable, bilingual office staff is available to assist patients with answers to questions they may have. The counters and help windows are accessible to individuals of most heights.

You will then visit the weigh-in and vitals area. The clean, private space is where patients will visit with our friendly, bilingual nursing staff and prepare for an exam by one of our physicians.
Not only are Molina Medical’s clinics clean and friendly, but they are also accessible for all patients. For our patients in wheelchairs, the clinics have a digital 800-pound wheelchair scale and accessible counters and tables. Each exam room’s table can be adjusted to 17 inches off the floor for easier transfer for wheelchair users and others. The rooms are also equipped with a Hoyer lift for wheelchair users who are unable to self transfer or patients with balance difficulties. For hard of hearing and deaf patients, an assisted listening device and state-of-the-art video interpreting services are also available. Initial health screening and health education materials are also available in large font and Braille for blind and low-vision patients.

Once the exam is finished, a doctor may prescribe antibiotics. At Molina, you don’t need to get in the car to make your way to the drug store to fill the prescription or wait for the medication. Instead, our patients – with the help of a Molina staff member – can use our automated medication dispensing machines. These machines are equipped with frequently prescribed medicine, as well as common over the counter medication. Our patients walk out of the doctor’s office with the medication their child needs.

With an abundance of helpful resources and programs, Molina Medical clinics are the best choice for the patient. Whether a patient takes one of our free neighborhood shuttles or drives, the Molina Medical clinics are easy to find and accessible.

Thank you for taking a virtual tour of Molina Medical’s clinics. We look forward to seeing you soon!
