Project Main Details

Hall of Fame for Women Innovators
This is a short film to introduce new Hall of Fame members honoring Women Innovators. The client is a well-known company in the Philadelphia area with many ties to academia, science and business. This project will be seen live at an event to honor the inductees and will be streamed online as well.

There will be one voice chosen to narrate the project. The final film will be between 3-4 minutes in length. We will need the first read and one revision (for pronunciation and general inflection).

As the client will be choosing the VO talent, only submissions with a custom demo of the attached script will be considered. Please do your best with pronunciation for the demo; all difficult names for actual read will be communicated prior to recording.

Born to Polish immigrants in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Stephanie L. Kwolek would go on to invent the technology behind Kevlar. Initially to address the gasoline shortage of the 1960s, Kwolek and her team searched for a lightweight, yet strong fiber to be used in tires. The resulting discovery would go on to be used not only in life-saving devices like bullet-proof vests, but many other household products.

Kwolek was awarded the DuPont company's Lavoisier Medal for outstanding technical achievement in 1995, an honor that no other female employee has been awarded.

Judith Rodin became the first woman named to lead an Ivy League Institution, serving as the President of the University of Pennsylvania before becoming the provost of Yale University. While at Penn, Rodin headed programs at that brought unprecedented growth and development that transformed its academic core and dramatically enhanced the quality of life on campus and in the surrounding community. Rodin now serves as the president of The Rockefeller Foundation, one of the world’s leading philanthropic organizations.
