Goldspotted Oak Borer Education Video ZDLTK494045762052X
Seeking narration for a natural resource educational video. Target audiences will be the general adult public as well as professionals in land management, tree care, recreation, firewood and related industries. Read desired will be friendly but professional with confidence in pronouncement of scientific nomenclature (proper pronunciations will be provided with script).
Since 2002, a non-native invasive beetle called the goldspotted oak borer has killed tens of thousands of oak trees in San Diego County, CA, causing significant economic, ecological, cultural, and aesthetic losses to the region. Currently, there are no effective treatments that can eradicate GSOB once it becomes established; therefore, there is great concern of the threat GSOB poses to susceptible oak species found throughout much of California and southern Oregon.
Land managers from federal, state, county and local agencies and other stakeholders are producing a short (30 minute) video about goldspotted oak borer, which will also be featured in shorter 3-6 minute segments.
Video includes interviews with experts, still photos and footage of research, training, education, collaborative planning and tree removal activities.
This is a not-for-profit educational endeavor. Project requires quick turn-around (2-3 days) for edited and final tracks.
