Project Main Details
We hear the sound of a countdown for space mission, then a smooth, sophisticated voice (middle-aged male … think Patrick Stewart with American accent).
➢ Scenes of young people in a university setting.
SO … what happens when every person can live comfortably … sustainably … and healthy … secure in our 21st century habitat? where will we go from there? In all likelihood the answer will be up … or out!
➢ We see home movies of a young boy racing along on a homemade luge track, eyes wide, reveling in the moment. He is fascinated with speed and freedom. He is exploring the possibilities.
It’s in our nature to roam … to explore … to search beyond the next horizon. it’s a never-ending dream to go further … and faster than ever before!
➢ Image of young boy (Tucker West) as a young man working with technician on sled runners. Sparks fly as abrasives are used to shape the steel. A group of engineers gather around the luge sled, diagramming the runners and discussing improvements to its performance.
And it’s the adventurers who drive us toward ever more sophisticated materials and methods …
➢ Long, sleek shot of luge athlete on downhill run dissolves to a car racing, a train running, and a plane flying.
… to build better structures and better systems … that extend our range and reach.
➢ Saint-Gobain teams designing and building futuristic transportation related prototypes.
For 350 years, we have met the greatest expectations, working side-by-side with engineers, architects, and designers, combining in ever more sophisticated configurations, the tools and intelligence necessary to take us anywhere … and keep us there for generations to come.
➢ Launch of the Mars Rover mission juxtaposed with SG personnel working on the underlying technology. Mars Rover Curiosity moving around the surface of Mars. We see young boy/girl watching the view from Curiosity on their I-pad.
Working at the outer edges of human effort … the sky is NOT the limit. We have flown with the missions to Mars … roamed the plains and valleys of this distant planet with the Curiosity Rover … and helped scan its surface with our scintillating crystal technology.
➢ [to be determined]
What will be asked of us tomorrow? And who will help us create technologies to explore the stars. Will it be you? Or you? Or you?
➢ Animation of space probe leaving the solar system (placeholder).
Ideas guide us … technologies serve us … innovation gives us wings.
Cut to the absolute quiet of space.
At Saint-Gobain, we have learned there is no limit to what we can do, if we only have the courage AND THE PARTNERS to do it.
