The three recordings are for a high level e-learning course on gender and aid effectiveness. Because it is a global course, we have used 'character images' of an African female, a Latino female and an Asian female. It would be nice to get a little bit of a multicultural flavour in the voices as well, while making sure it sounds very professional and extremely clear (lots of ESL speakers will take the course). So no strong accents. Only a slight 'tone' or subtle accent that reminds people of these different geographies would be appropriate. If you have a clear British or American accent and would like to audition, please do, as we don't need to have a different accent for ALL our characters.
The narration time for the African female is 45 minutes, for the Latino female 35 minutes and the Asian female 40 minutes. Add another 2 hours' work because every narrated screen needs to be recorded as a separate MP3 file.

So let’s recap. Gender discrimination is a difference in treatment based on sex that puts the individual at a disadvantage. Gender discrimination can take many forms and sometimes it is hard to detect.
Discrimination is direct when rules and practices explicitly exclude or give preference to certain individuals solely on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
Indirect discrimination is much harder to detect, as it refers to norms, procedures and practices that appear to be neutral, but whose application disproportionately affects members of certain groups.
This means that treating different people in the same way (without taking into account the context of the disadvantaged) may in some cases maintain existing inequalities instead of reducing them.
Practices which avoid taking account of gender inequalities are known as ‘gender-blind’ or ‘gender-neutral’: they are not openly discriminatory, but might still lead to inequalities.
