Project Main Details

From Poverty to Hope
We are looking for someone who can speak with both authority and compassion on the subject of poverty. Think the "Allstate" commercials, in the sense that their spokesperson makes you feel both "he knows what he's talking about" and "I can entrust my car's safety to this guy". We are looking for something similar only dealing with the issue of poverty and how - especially - the Church of Jesus Christ can help.

What is poverty?
A lack of money?
A lack of education?

Yes. Poverty is all these things, and more. At its root, poverty is a lack of options. And nowhere in America do people have fewer options than in our inner cities, where 35% of the population find themselves in povertyÂ’s shadow.

Meet Amber. She’s a single mom working three jobs to make ends meet. She’s just lost one job and is being evicted from her apartment. She needs groceries, but she has student loans to pay, and she has to get her daughter settled into a new school. Again.

Organizations send ***** donations, hand-me-downs and meals, and those things help…for a little while. But food runs out, clothes are outgrown, and next month, next week – tomorrow – Amber will be back where she began.
***** feels alone, and her world is looking darker every day. She wonders if dawn will ever come.
