Project Main Details

I'd love a mature older male voice. Think of someone bestowing wisdom on you. Not a grandpa, but someone with wisdom. Maybe a 40-50 something. Someone who can read it slowly with a narrative vibe. The read should be right about 3 min, slow and methodical in delivery.

How Many Times Should We Forgive?

Forgiveness. It can feel impossible at times. It’s not always what you want to do. But it always changes you. And it’s always the right thing to do.

Ever thought about how many times you’re supposed to forgive someone? I don’t have an exact answer, but I can tell you it’s more than you think.

It’s not everyday you find yourself offended, frustrated or hurt. But when it does happen, you remember. It sticks with you. You can’t shake it. I’m not really sure why, but that’s how it works for most of us. We can’t just will the feelings away.

I wish it was that easy.

It’s not.

Who knows how it’s going to happen. Someone in your life shows up and offends you in some way. Maybe it was something they did. Or something they didn’t do. Maybe it was something they said. However it happens, you feel their weight and wonder what’s next.

The emotions build up. They become so heavy. And before you know it, you start pulling away. You don’t even want to see them. Your blood boils and they have no idea. You want to hate them, just enough to make them feel it. Even if it’s just for minute.

Sometimes they know the pain they’ve caused, and they’re glad and it hurts. Other times, they don’t realize a thing. Either way it doesn’t change anything for you. You still carry the weight.

And when it’s just you, by yourself, trying to bear the weight of the offense. It’s difficult. You wish everyone understood what you were going through, but it’s not possible. They don’t. They can’t.

So what do you do next?

You forgive. Because you were forgiven. In fact, you are forgiven. Everyday you’re forgiven. Whether the offense is noteworthy or not, you’re forgiven. Whether you realize it or not, you’re forgiven.

You can’t use it up. You can’t hide from it. Forgiveness is always ready to meet you.

So how many times should you forgive someone? How many times should you feel the freedom of forgiveness? How many times should forgiveness be your next step?

It’s not easy. It’s never easy. It’s good, though. It’s smart. And it feels right. Dropping all that weight lets you feel free again. You weren’t made to carry that burden. You can’t carry it. So don’t.

Live life.

Experience forgiveness.
