Although you may already be familiar with fire extinguishers, it’s important to understand when and how to use one safely and effectively.

Fires of any size can be dangerous and you should only attempt to extinguish one if:

• the fire is small and contained
• you are safe from toxic smoke or fumes
• you have a clear escape route
• your instincts tell you it’s O-K

If any of these conditions are not met, you should call 911 immediately and get to safety.

If you are prepared to put out the fire yourself, grab the extinguisher and just remember P.A.S.S. :

First, PULL the safety pin out.

Next, AIM at the base of the fire, where the material fueling the fire is burning

Then, SQUEEZE the lever to discharge the agent

Last, use a SWEEPING motion with the hose or nozzle to make sure the area does not reignite.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
