At ********************, Katy, Texas, you’ll feel welcome. Whoever you are, you’ll feel like part of the family. That family feeling is rooted in the church’s rich history where members pulled together to survive and to sustain a Christian witness in a struggling town.
More than 110 years ago, on November 20, 1898, Katy pioneers met in a one-room schoolhouse to organize a **************. Twelve charter members, led by Reverend T. L. Scruggs, established the ***************************, Texas.
The first years were not easy, however, and the church barely survived to reach its fifth birthday. The hurricane that devastated Houston in 1900, almost wiped out Katy as well. The church had only four members remaining.
