One: Define the two types of harassment.
• Type 1 is “hostile work environment” harassment. You’ll be able to recognize how peers, managers and non-employees can create a hostile workplace.
• Type 2 is Quid Pro Quo” harassment. You’ll learn the obvious – and not-so-obvious – ways that managers engage in it.
Two: This presentation will also explain two key terms related to harassment:
• “Membership in a protected class,” and
• The “reasonable person test” that the courts use to determine what kinds of behavior may, or may not, constitute harassment
This presentation will identify the proper channels for filing a complaint and describe what actually happens during the complaint investigation process.
And finally, we’ll define “retaliation” and explain why employees are protected from retaliation for filing a complaint of discrimination or harassment.
