Educational Program

Hello and thanks for taking the time to respond. This piece is an educational program. It deals with the state's energy story. What we are looking for are male voice talents to read about ten minutes of content for the price listed. VOs should sound like they are from the western states, in other words, like an old cowboy. The accent or tone doesnt need to be overplayed or comical, but should sound like you've spent time out on the range and camping under the stars with an old harmonica. Residents of WY or those with the "cowboy" spirit get extra points, so let me know if you live in the state.

Thank you for your time

1. *************************. Where the great plains meet the Rocky Mountains.

2. Almost 98,000 square miles of stunning natural beauty containing Yellowstone, the world’s first **********************************************************, the nation’s first national monument.

3. Perhaps Wyoming’s spirit is best exemplified by the thousands of pioneers who trekked across the state, leaving wagon-wheel ruts and names embedded in stone, telling the story of their determination and vision.

4. With slightly more than half a million residents, Wyoming is the least populated state in the continental U.S.

5. Wyoming is known as the "**************". In 1869, Wyoming's territorial legislature became the first government in the world to grant Wyoming women the right to vote, serve on juries and hold public office. Less than three months later, the "************************************************************************* City-became the first woman appointed as a justice of the peace.

6. That same year, the “Golden Spike” signaling the completion of the transcontinental railroad was driven into the ground in Promontory, Utah. This completed the first national continental railway. It crossed southern Wyoming which provided the easiest access for building at that time.

7. These early railroads ran on one thing. Coal. That first year, Wyoming mined 6,925 tons of coal to meet this demand. As our nation grew and entered the industrial age, Wyoming’s natural resources played a key role.

8. By the end of World War II, Wyoming coal production had reached almost 10 million tons. As our nation continued to expand and our demand for electricity continued to increase, Wyoming came to the forefront as the primary source for coal in the U.S. In 1988, Wyoming became the top coal producing state in the nation with markets as far away as Japan competing for the low sulfur, high *** coal. A *** is the amount of energy required to raise one pound of water one degree Fahrenheit.
