Project Main Details

Duke Module Voiceovers
We are seeking an authoritative, yet conversational, middle-aged male voice to narrate a series of five short (3-5 minutes) industrial videos. Each video addresses ways in which to improve hand hygiene in hospitals in order to prevent the spread of infectious disease. The audience includes doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff.

We have already recorded scratch tracks for each video. The hired voice over talent must be able to match the timing of these scratch tracks. The videos, with scratch tracks included, will be sent via email or will be available online for viewing. We’d prefer cleanly edited tracks over raw recordings, so we can just drop the new tracks into the timeline and replace the scratch tracks with ease.

We are seeking a full buyout, giving us the right to use the recording in any medium, including on the internet. Please include a rate quote with your audition. A sample script has been included in this post. To view the video from which this sample script has been taken, visit the link below. This section of the script can be found at 2 minutes, 30 seconds into the video.

Partial script added for audition:

But how could this have happened to Mrs. Collins? Let's take a quick look back.

First, Nurse Williams failed to replace the gloves she wore while treating a previous patient. Next, she cross-contaminated everything she touched with her previous patient's bacteria, including Mrs. Collins and Nurse Miller. Then, already contaminated with foreign bacteria, Nurse Miller manipulated the ventilator keypad, causing the bacteria to swarm the surface of the machine. This put others at risk, including any visitors and additional healthcare staff. Finally, Nurse Miller delivered the fatal blow. By manipulating the endotracheal tube with contaminated gloves, she provided bacteria with the opportunity to migrate into the lungs where it caused the deadly infection.

Gloves prevent the wearers hands from being soiled and greatly reduce the risk of fatal infection. However, if not changed, gloves function as carriers of harmful bacteria, capable of contaminating an endless amount of surfaces. With each change in care activity, replace gloves and practice proper hand hygiene. Remember, gloves don't protect the patient, your hand hygiene does. Wash because you care.
