Dog in Study Space second listing ZDLTK152033571552X
This audition is for the character of a dog in a script that helps parents create a study space for their child. This dog interjects himself into a busy mother's (Danielle) lifestyle to tell her why her son (Derrick) isn't studying effectively. In my last listing, I had readers do an over-the-top Dog voice, and I realized that the animation looks much better if the character just looks like a talking dog. Here are some adjectives and traits to describe him: cool attitude, cynical, small dog (a lot of deep voices sound like a big dog), friendly dog (certain voices make him sound like a pit bull or rottweiler) more "ice age" as opposed to "flinstones," not overly doggy, and "in the know" with his family.

Dog: Yo! There’s nothing wrong with Derrick.
Danielle: (looks around) Who said that?
Dog: I may be barking up the wrong tree, but it seems like telling Derrick to concentrate isn’t working.
Danielle: You got that right.
Dog: You can start helping him by creating the right study space.
Danielle: Study space?
Dog: Obviously you don’t have a CLUE.
Danielle: What do you mean?
Dog: A study space is a spot in your house for kids to do work. Study spaces should be calm, or free from too many distractions, light, or well-lit, uncluttered, or on a clear surface, and easy, or easy for your child to find things!
