Everyone has a story. And every place has a history.
Since the beginning of time, the story goes, the Quileute (Kwil-Yoot) people have lived here, at the mouth of this river.
For thousands of years, they have defended this land against every intruder. And for all that time, the stories that hold their history, their culture and their knowledge of the world around them, have been passed down through the centuries, from generation to generation.
These sacred stories, the Quileute have also done their best to defend. But the truth about stories is that they were meant to be told. And sometimes, a story takes on a life of its own....
The Twilight Saga may have captured the hearts of millions of fans around the world, but there’s another story here worth telling—the real story of the Quileute people, a story so full of incredible events and amazing characters that it inspired an international phenomenon.

Once they held a territory of hundreds of miles across these beaches, rivers and mountains, but today the Quileute people are left with only one square mile surrounded by National Park.
Only a few still speak the Quileute language, only a few still practice the sacred songs and dances and remember the ways of the old people.
Past years of over-fishing and clear-cutting still echo in this fragile environment, threatening the Tribe’s ancient way of life.
And now even the land itself where they’ve made their home for millennia could vanish beneath their feet at a moment’s notice.
Today, the future of the Quileute Tribe hangs in the balance. But this story, their story, begins long before all of that. It begins in a time many years ago... It begins in a time before...
