Many of these diabetics have complications that could be prevented, including blindness, kidney failure, amputations, and heart attacks. Today, data that can be captured by home based technology to better enable the patient to manage their diabetes while providing the physician with better information about their specific history and responses to treatment. Diabetes, more than most other chronic diseases, requires daily attention and aggressive self-management. During a doctor's office visit, only a few minutes is dedicated to management issues and treatment options.
