Every product that leaves our factory is made to order. Once you as our customer have decided on the product you need, the manufacturing process begins and it begins with our team selecting your desired core and veneer.
Only after every single piece is hand inspected can the manufacturing of your product begin and it begins by bonding your veneer of choice to your core of choice.
First, the core unit is guided carefully by hand through the spreader which fully coats it with an environmentally friendly solution used to bond the veneer to both the front and back of the core.
Once coated, the core along with the front and back veneer finishes are aligned by hand using laser guidance for precision and then immediately sent to pre-press to pre-bond, if you will, the veneer to the core.
After several minutes, the prep-press automatically opens and sends your product directly to the main press where the final bonding occurs by using both pressure and heat, again, set specifically for the product you have chosen.
Once baked to perfection, the steam powered press will automatically open and workers then begin the process of unloading the press to an automated stacker to prepare the product for finishing.
The first step of finishing is to trim any excess off the ends and edges of each sheet. This is done using a highly precise multi directional saw. As each sheet passes through, all edges are trimmed to precise measurements and are now ready for sanding.
The sanding process sands both sides of each piece using multi-head sanders. After the sanding process is complete, each piece must pass through another human inspection using special lighting and multi-angled mirrors to help quickly spot any imperfections.
So now that your product has been handpicked, hand graded, bonded, sent through our pre-press, bonded with our main press, trimmed and sanded to perfection all under the watchful eyes of our skilled workers, what's next?
Yet another human inspection.
That's right, before leaving through our doors, each piece again must go through a complete visual and hands-on inspection from multiple highly skilled inspectors to guarantee our product quality perfection!
With over 200 employees and life times of dedication, decades of knowledgeable production and engineering experience are merged with modern manufacturing techniques, resulting in our superior quality hardwood plywood products.
Proud to affirm that all products are "Made In America," Darlington Veneer has a long history of success
