Project Main Details

Corn PSA Student Project
This is for a student project. The voice track will be inserted into a Flash animation with key information being animated in a graphically appealing way. There is an acoustic guitar music track which I'll mix in myself in post. The voice character would be described as dry, slightly country, sarcastic. The "Dry Style" demo on this page is very similar to what I'm looking for but feel free to vary to what you think will work.

Did you know that 70% of your diet is corn?
The industrialized corn we eat isn't edible until it's highly processed. In the last 30 years its nutritional value has gone down while crop yields have grown 400% per acre. Of the 15,000 new products every year, 75% of them are candies, breakfast cereals, and soft drinks, and you guessed it, they're mostly made of corn.
In the last 20 years the real price of fruits and vegetables increased 40%, while prices for sweets and fast food decreased by 24%, all thanks to a 1000% increase in High Fructose Corn Syrup consumption. Americans now eat 89 pounds of it per year. Sweet!

It's made junk food cheap encouraging people to eat more, causing obesity and diabetes. Knowing how bad this “corny” syrup is to our health, it’s amazing it’s not illegal.

Hungry yet? How ‘bout some beef?

For hundreds of years cattle were fed with grass. Today 99% of them eat corn. These animals didn't evolve to eat corn so antibiotics and pain killers must be used to prevent potentially fatal acid levels in the stomach. Livestock now consume 70% of the antibiotics in the US.

To make matters worse, they live in confinement to be fed with corn for 140 days before slaughter. If they were allowed to live any longer they would die due to the corn based diet. Grass fed cows take several years to reach the same weight. So what does all this do to your health? Corn fed beef has 7 times more saturated fat than grass fed beef. You do the math.
