Project Main Details
We will have a number of videos. The script you'll be reading is for our first video titled "Closing the Achievement Gap." It's a big problem and we've dedicated years and millions to it.
We want an authoritative voice. A Morgan Freeman type or the Allstate guy type for the male version and the female equivalent if there is such a thing. I think the note for the females is again to be authoritative.
WE HAVE A SCRATCH TRACK recorded, along with the video so you can see the tone we're after and the certain words we'd like you to emphasize. PLEASE WATCH before you record. In their first 3 years children of poverty hear 30 million fewer words than children from more affluent families.
By the age of 3, a baby’s brain grows to 80% of the size of an adult brain, making these years critical for brain development--development that is driven by language and especially back-and-forth talk.
Research proved long ago that the amount of talk in early childhood affects intelligence, school readiness, and social and emotional well-being. So the achievement gap is really a word gap – a gap we must prevent through the right early intervention.
