Project Main Details

Climate Change in 60 Seconds
Voiceover required for Youtube video entitled 'EXPLAINING CLIMATE CHANGE IN 60 SECONDS'.

Interested voiceover artists should send a recording of the script below. It is very important that the voiceover artist sounds like they understand what they're reading and convey a sense of 'calm authority'. It must be read relatively quickly in order to fit the whole video within the self-imposed 60 second time restriction. To get an idea of the pace required please take a look at this early draft of the video ****************************

Ideally the whole text should be recorded for the pitch. If you would prefer to read just an excerpt, please use the first 3 paragraphs.

Once we have chosen the talent, we will then give the final script to record. The fee for this project is £250 (+VAT).

We look forward to hearing your pitches,

Script Details

Please leave a short pause wherever there is an ellipsis (…) in the script.

As the Sun's rays reach the Earth's surface, they are absorbed and re-emitted as heat. Greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide) absorb some of this heat.

Increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere means more heat is trapped, leading to global warming.

During the last 200 years, human activities (especially the burning of fossil fuels) have increased concentrations of atmospheric CO2 by 40%, causing global average surface temperatures to rise by about 0.8 degrees Centigrade.

Other changes to the climate can be seen in…
The warming of the oceans…
A decline in sea ice in the Arctic…
The shrinking of the Greenland Ice Sheet…
A rise in sea levels…
Decreasing snow and ice cover in the Northern Hemisphere…
And changes in the location and behaviour of plants and animals.

If emissions continue at their current rate then further warming of up to 4.8 degrees Centigrade can be expected by the end of this century.

This rate of warming is more than ten times that of the fastest known naturally sustained change on a global scale.

Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
