Project Main Details

Claymation short film THE HOPPER DEXTER
The film takes place in west Baltimore, Maryland. It shows a destructive circle of violence and lack of future perspective. Two teenage boys are robbing the local drug dealers, but things do not work out as planned. Instead of collecting money they end up with a huge amount of drugs and blood on their hands, waiting for revenge to come...

The story is told in a realistic look. To accentuate this we are looking for authentic voices for the characters. The dialogues are simple, so there is space for improvisation of slang and dialects that the voice actor should be familiar with.

One of the maincharakters DEXTER is a african american teenager. He is 16 years old. He lives with his grandmother. Because his parents can't take care of him. His mom is a junkie and his father was killed in gang related shooting. Dexter's grandmother tries to raise Dexter, but is too old.
Dexter wants to provide for his grandmother. So he tries to make a little money when ever it is possible.

We are not looking for a "cartoon voice" it should sound natural and a little timid.

The recording will be about one day of work.

If you are interested, it would be great if you could send us a demo with the lines from scene 6 of the script.
