Project Main Details

China documentary
Documentary director is seeking professional narrator for a political film about China.
The right narrator would have the deep "voice of God", "wise old man" or "British professor" personality. British accent is required, male.
Being knowledgeable of world affairs and international politics is a must. Otherwise, the narration will have no authoritative feel to it.

A home studio with recording capabilities helps a lot for telecommuting and sampling. Final recording will be done at the Producer's studio.

Please record the 3 and a half minute opening part of the documentary. The successful artist will be hired for the rest of the show. Compensation to be negotiated.

Thanks for your interest,

Script Details

Full script:

A few years before his death George Washington warned the young republic to stay away from foreign wars.

For the next hundred years, America followed his advice. Then came the twentieth century.

For good or for worst, the once reluctant superpower has dominated the world scene like no other empire before. No country in the history of mankind has ever touched the lives of so many people.
At times called “The indispensable Nation”, it was the first to help rebuild the countries of its enemies, open its market to their products and welcome them at the negotiating table.

From one isolated republic in 1776, by now half the countries of the world have adopted a constitutional model. Its system of property rights, freedom of speech and an independent judiciary became a standard for peoples around the world.
Many have challenged her, just to end up in the trash heap of history.

At the dawn of this new century, a new contender like no other has risen from the east.

To this day, the Chinese Communist party has lifted out of poverty almost half a billion people, the equivalent population of the entire South America.

Thanks to the China price, industrial goods became affordable beyond the industrialized world for the first time.

Its thirst for resources created millions of jobs in dusty corners of the world otherwise long forgotten. But above everything, China provided hope.

The poor of the world are looking.

The Chinese model, a far cry from our liberal democracies, is becoming an option of the developing world.

India, the world largest democracy, hindered by indecisiveness and corruption, is left in the dust

First colonized and exploited, then abandoned, African nations knock at the door of Chinese companies for jobs and investments.

A stagnant South America is eager to sell its natural resources, while Russia sells it its oil and weapons.

In the meantime, the bewildered rich of the world are watching how the once despised state ran economy is leaping forward using the western markets and its technology.

Is this the beginning of the end for the so-called “western model”? Did the 5000 years continuous history finally developed into a model to outperform the West and possibly replace its young leader?

Or are we witnessing just another short-term economic miracle bound for the footnotes of history?

From our first encounters, we only knew what we wanted from China, but never wondered what China wanted from us.
For the most of their history, they just wanted to be left alone. Now, for the first time, this is about to change, and this change will transform the world for the centuries to come.
