Project Main Details

Chica
ZDLTK15205088724X
The Chica project is two documentaries, both appx. 100 minutes long. We are looking for a skilled voiceartist that will narrate the american version of the movie.

Most parts of the documentaries are driven by action and the characters - but to tie the whole thing together in a nice way we are using a narrator as the inner voice of the main character.

The script is not finalized yet but it will be in the neighborhood of twentyfive pages - per documentary.

We are looking for a very skilled - soft and warm senior male voice.
Morgan Freeman might be a helpful keyword.

We will not accept proposals without reading from enclosed text.

NARRATION
Chica almost died in September 2006.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
It was a Thursday afternoon, and
there wasn't a cloud in the sky...

NARRATION (CONT’D)
It's difficult to understand the
hard times of her life... It is
difficult to understand why the
owner let her suffer.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
But what I do understand is that
the editors from The Pony Club
made a miracle come through.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
They saw Chica, they felt Chica
and they saved Chica.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
And they did it with their eyes closed
- and an open heart.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Chica might live twenty more years,
or she might pass away next week.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
It is not for me to tell.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
But that moment - in Spain
- when her life was saved.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
That moment will live forever.

TITLE

NARRATION
I became a horse missionary 13 years ago. It must have been around the time Chica was born.
NARRATION (CONT’D)
I had this weird dream. I was an old man looking back on my life.
NARRATION (CONT’D)
And it was all about horses.

NARRATION
I was not an expert on horses at that time, and I might not be today either. That's not for me to judge. But that dream was strong. I can make a difference. I can make the world a better place for horses. And I can help people through horses.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Some call it faith and some might call it imagination. But for me - well, that dream put my life on tracks.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
And now, 13 years later I'm on my way to Spain to help Chica. A 4.000 miles journey to meet a horse that I don't know.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
When I first heard of Chica, I recalled the five animal freedoms.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Freedom from discomfort due to environment.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Freedom from pain, injury and disease.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Freedom to express normal behaviour
and - freedom from fear and distress.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
Chica suffered from all of them.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
But that is over now.

NARRATION (CONT’D)
I just have to make her understand it.
