Celebrating 15 Years
ZD144319
To help celebrate MMV’s 15th anniversary, we are producing a short film/animation highlighting MMV’s achievements and partnerships over the years.

The goals are to raise awareness about why continued malaria drug R&D is essential, raise awareness about the need for sustained funding for the fight against malaria and help mobilise donor funds.

The audience are MMV staff, stakeholders and donors.

The tone should be celebratory and positive (but slightly toned down for more serious parts about deaths from malaria etc)

Budget to include two read-throughs - one for feedback and one final, professionally recorded. The demo text is not the final script but contains similar content. Please read it at pace so that it takes about 1min 20secs from start to finish. The final script will be between 2mins 30secs and 3mins.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease caused by parasites. Three billion people around the world are at risk.

Back in 1999, malaria was killing a million people a year, the parasite was building resistance and there was little investment in medicines.

Determined to save lives; governments, researchers and the World Health Organization united to create MMV (Medicines for Malaria Venture).

We bring together researchers and scientists to develop effective, affordable antimalarials. MMV evolved quickly ..
… prioritising the unmet medical needs of sufferers ..

… and building a pipeline of potential medicines ..

In 2003, we broadened our mission to tackle delivery .. helping to reach people in need.

In 2007, the global community declared its determination to make malaria history.

But just a year later, artemisinin resistance became a reality and MMV turned its focus to drugs that could counter resistance.
