Script Details

Audition script:

This is an anthem celebrating toys and the joy they bring to children. It's a montage of vignettes, set to music, capturing charming, spontaneous, "magic" moments of kids interacting with toys. We see children playing with toys, opening gifts (Christmas/birthday), getting a coveted new toy, interacting with their parents, etc.

The tone is warm and emotional, but real, not overly saccharine. We may also include (or recreate) some archival footage and/or stills of kids playing with the products, such as Barbie, in the past. Possible Music: "You'll Be in My Heart"/Phil Collins (instrumental, with lyric at end)

Open on "home movie" footage, circa 1950s/early 60s of toddler pulling classic Fisher-Price "Snoopy Sniffer"or "Busy Bee" pull toy. (Cut to 2 year old playing w/ "Chatter Telephone"?)

VO: They grow up with us.

Cut to home movies (or stills) of 1-2 little girls in pjs on Christmas morning circa 1960s/70s, gleefully posing with their Barbie dolls (just unwrapped).

VO: And create indelible memories.

Cut to child playing with Little People. Cut to girl quietly gazing at a Barbie doll in fantasy Princess clothing (OR) watching Barbie DVD (like "Rapunzel") on computer.

VO: They enchant us. . .

Cut to 3 year old boy cracking up while watching Tickle Me Elmo go through gyrations.

VO: . . .they make us laugh. . .
