***custom demo required***
The Eland is the largest antelope on the African continent.
Elands reach a top speed of 25 miles per hour and can jump over
8 feet high from a standstill. Males and females have long, twisting
horns, averaging 3 feet in length. These animals produce a unique clicking sound when they walk. It can be heard from a distance and alerts other animals to the presence of a herd. Scientists believe the clicking is a
form of communication, but it has not been widely studied by scientists. Elands live in three different social groups: males, females, and
nursery groups. As male elands age, their coloring changes and
they become more solitary creatures.

Wallace Rogers III, the current owner of the Buckhorn,
shot this hippo on the Luangua River in Zambia in 2005.
The hippopotamus can grow to 12-15 feet in length and weigh
between 5000-8000 pounds.
They are fast on land, reaching speeds of up to 8 miles per hour.
A strict herbivore, hippos can eat up to 150 pounds of grass in a single night! Note the unusual growth pattern of this hippo’s tusks, or canine teeth.
They will continue to grow longer and longer if they are not
worn down by use. These teeth can grow to about a foot in length.
