** You don't have to read the entire script to apply. Please trim the sample script to something closer to 20-30 seconds. Problems. Whoever we are, wherever we come from, all of us have them. And some of them can be very tough to handle…
…which is why at Bridgeway they take a different approach to treating addiction and mental health issues…
…an approach that recognizes that none of us have it easy; that we’re all in this together, and that freedom from stigma and stereotypes is a key to empowering troubled people to seek the help they need…
…the freedom to gain or regain a healthier mind, healthier relationships and a healthier quality of life; the freedom to help build healthy families, healthy businesses and healthy communities. The freedom …to recover.
Bridgeway’s clinicians and counselors see themselves as advocates for their clients, not authority figures: a concept that inspired the mentoring programs they’ve developed for Adolescent, Corrections and Substance Abuse, with more such programs on the way.
That empathy is in Bridgeway’s DNA, because many on its staff have been through treatment themselves, and can relate to their clients’ struggles from the inside out, and apply that understanding to a full spectrum of Oupatient and Residential services…
…including substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, medically-managed detox and programs for clients returning from incarceration…
…as well as onsite primary medical care – especially important for those who may feel uncomfortable seeking it elsewhere…
…and a safe residential facility for confidential recovery from Problem Gambling: the only such facility in the Pacific Northwest.
Bridgeway’s warm, non-clinical environment includes hosting family-style meals in its Residential dining areas …to encourage bonding, sharing and open communication between clients and their friends and families…
…because at Bridgeway, there is no “them”, only “us”, and a belief that in the end, it’s relationships that heal.
The people at Bridgeway also believe in listening to what folks in treatment say they need the most: a safe place to live, a place to work, and a chance to earn the regard and respect of those they live and work with. And in helping clients pursue those goals, Bridgeway is not alone.
Instead, Bridgeway sees itself as part of a community-wide network committed to helping people with problems recover, and return to everyday life. And so, from transportation, to job assistance, to mentoring, they strive to make clients aware of all the outside resources available to them.
At one time or another, many of us will need the kind of help that Bridgeway provides, and that helps healthy communities grow and thrive.
It starts with recognizing that it’s okay to ask for a helping hand …as the first step across the bridge to recovery, and the road to a better life.
