Project Main Details

Brain Science in the Future
BACKGROUND: This is narration for a short animated story about personal and ethical questions that we, as individuals and as a society, will have to face as scientists discover more about how the brain works and how medicine and technology could offer positive & negative ways to affect it.

This VO will be part of an interactive museum exhibit where visitors will choose a variety of stories to hear and then discuss their thoughts and feelings about the future of brain science.

JOB DETAILS: We will be hiring 7 different performers (each will record 3 of the stories -- one from each category; see attached PDF script -- for approx 45-60 secs VO total per performer).

We are seeking a range of voices, from 20-somethings to senior citizens. If you have different "voices" you would like considered, please record a sample of each. It is possible we would hire an performer to record more than 3 stories (and thus be paid appropriately for the additional work/time).

STYLE NOTES: Best to think of these as like "story telling in a Public Service Announcement", like you'd see on TV. The stories should have some emotional weight to them, but the teller is NOT "in the middle of experiencing them right now" (ie, no weeping, wailing, or over-acting). Just a meaningful, serious telling of a story to help someone understand why your character might want, need, or be made to use one of these new brain technologies or medicines.

Script Details

***Please submit a custom demo***
Please record the AUDITION SAMPLE below (about a "fake" brain topic: Brain Chip Implants. (We have attached a PDF of the full script, so you can see what the real/full material looks like.)

AUDITION SAMPLE: "My job is analyzing complex financial data in real time. The information is always changing, and making mistakes keeps me from getting promoted. If I get a brain chip implant, it would mean the company could track my work every second of every day -- but I could do the calculations instantly, letting me make better decisions."
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
