Project Main Details
I’m looking for a narrator for a children’s book app we are creating for a charity.
The app will have two narrators, 1. The Author and 2. a Professional voice artist. This brief is for the professional voice artist.
Our required voice style is a deep, man’s voice with an American accent. The tone needs to be warm.
Most of the book is a straight read with a few characters appearing for which the voice will need to change up. (See script)
Each page is in rhyming text. We can provide the author’s read of the text so you can hear the intonations.
If you have an iPad, we can provide a version of work-in-progress on the app so you can see the images, hear the music and the author read.
The levels will need to be consistent across the whole read.
Ideally we’d like the files tagged line by line in Audicity or similar program.
This is a charity project so our budget is tight.

Headmaster is from Nepal so his voice will differ slightly (not a full on character voice)
Zak is a big yak so his voice will differ slightly as well.
As for Zak, well this yak,
He is one of a kind,
With a big friendly smile
And a razor-sharp mind.
He climbs high mountain passes
With big heavy loads.
He is not all worried
That Nepal has few roads.
At each mountain village
They know him by name.
For a yak who can talk,
Is destined for fame.
On a warm spring day,
He was asked to sit down
By the local headmaster
Whose face wore a frown.
As the headmaster chatted,
Zak learned a sad tale.
"We want to run a great school,
But each day we fail."
"Our students, so many
But our books, oh so few.
We want them to learn,
But what can we do?"
"This is so wrong," said Zak.
"There's such a great need.
And every child who wants to
Should be able to read."
"But our village is poor,
Our resources near zero.
If you could help us change this
You'd be such a hero!"
"I'd love to," said Zak.
His face lit with a smile.
"For the sake of these students,
I'd walk many a mile."
