Project Main Details

Book Promotion Voiceover
The marketing piece will be told entirely from the perspective of Detective Kent Harlan.
It will be filmed without revealing concrete identifying features of any actors involved. The foundational scene will focus on the Detective sitting at a desk full of case evidence. The Detective will be shot from behind or other angles to conceal his direct identity. This scene will be the frame and concept that ties the entire trailer together.

There will be a voice-over of Harlan describing the case and his summary of the events, which have transpired thus far. With this commentary in the background the shots will slowly pan over the desk and “investigate” different items related to the story. The scene will cut every time an item is clearly shown and correspond to the Detective’s commentary. There will be quick video cuts similar to that of flashbacks. Things present on the desk will be items such as photos, media clippings, files, personal notes, and various other evidence artifacts. Harlan’s summary will explore the interventionist’s murder, his suspicions of Emily and her drug addiction, the mounting evidence against her, the faith of Barbara Covington in her daughter, and the detective’s personal faith in God and how it relates to this case.

Script Details

Barbara Covington hired an interventionist named Trish Massey, to convince her daughter Emily to enter drug treatment….it would be the last job Ms. Massey ever took.
I’m Detective Kent Harlan, homicide division.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen it, and sadly it won’t be the last. A beautiful young girl throws her life away on drugs and a quick fix. Still, Emily was one of the lucky ones; she had a loving mother like Barbara. One that cared enough to get her the help she needed. Barbara hired an interventionist to escort her daughter to a treatment center. Only neither of them ever made it there.
