Script Details

Please read a portion from the script below for auditions.
Imagine a journey where you walk in the footsteps of former presidents, conquer mountains, discover national memorials and natural wonders, explore Native American sites, and sample freshly harvested wine.

Now imagine the journey begins and ends in Lynchburg, Virginia.

In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies Lynchburg—home to history, stunning arts, vibrant culture and unparalleled recreation.

As you begin your exploration of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you’ll find some fantastic landmarks easily accessible along the way such as Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, the National D-day Memorial, Peaks of Otter Winery, Sharp Top Mountain, Natural Bridge and the Monacan Indian Village.

The Blue Ridge Parkway began in 1935 as an effort to create jobs for the unemployed during the Great Depression. When construction ended in 1983, the Parkway became a beautiful, yet functional, link between the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and was soon dubbed ‘America’s Most Popular Scenic Drive.’

The 469 miles that span between the Smokies and the Shenandoah National Park boast some of the most spectacular views and quaint stops available—whether you’re walking, biking or driving.

Come, start your journey in Lynchburg and see where the road takes you.
