Project Main Details

Bart the Everyman Buffalo

If this role looks familiar - it is a re-release, but we have made some changes to what we're seeking. Namely, this character should feel late 20s-40s, not aristocratic, more casual. Still masculine and cool. He's your buddy or neighbor, a cool guy who remains sincere and caring. You admire him and love his stories when he's the center of attention at the neighborhood barbecue or pub. The client says, "Think Geico."

This is the story of Bart the Buffalo. As a youth, he grazed the open range. But Bart was different. He comprehended human languages, for one, and seemed to understand the universe differently than the lemmings around him. He was curious. So one day, he left the prairie to pursue his greater destiny. He was simply too smart for the herd. He was simply smarter.

Fitting in better with humans, he began to socialize, attended school in England, earned multiple degrees, and succeeded at business. Now, he lives a very comfortable lifestyle
like a person, accepted by the human race as one of its own because of his great intelligence (and a wry sense of humor). He charms people at parties with his stories of travel and adventure, and then caps it off with sound financial advice on everything from stocks to wireless plans. He is not upper-crust as to alienate the everyman audience; he just enjoys a comfortable lifestyle. He's still relatable, with everyday (human) woes and worries.

The humor will come from seeing this lumbering creature living life as normally as your next-door neighbor.

People ask me, "Bart, how'd you get to be so smart?" Well, I started like everybody else, grazing with the herd. But I had a knack for language, and numbers... fashion, physics, disco.

So I lived among humans, traveled the world, and then, found a career at a wireless company that, like me, was smarter than the rest of its kind.

And do I miss my old home on the range?

(Two beautiful women give him a smile from across the room.)

No, I prefer life here, in the wild. (with a wink)
