TALENT SPECS:

BRUNO THE DOG

We are hearing the dog’s thoughts in an echoed OVO. It will be a large breed male dog, retriever or spaniel with sad eyes. Needs to have a humorous quality, perhaps raspy or deep register. Think Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.

Full script provided for auditions:

:30 TV – Your car’s best friend

ESTABLISHING SHOT: Pickup truck, hood open on side of the road.

CUT TO MCU TRUCK INT: a lab or retriever is alone in the front seat. WE HEAR his thoughts through an OVO:

DOG: “Sometimes it’s not easy having a master like mine. All that training he received as a Bumper to Bumper professional…

CUT TO TRUCK EXT: Our dog sticks his head out the passenger window to see what’s going on

DOG: …he’s always going out of his way to help people. I guess being a car’s best friend is just instinctive for him.”

BACK TO TRUCK INT: Dog lies down on the seat.

DOG: “Which is fine and dandy, I reckon.”

CU ON DOG: He lifts his head up as though he senses his master is coming back.

DOG: “But today’s sposed’ to be our day off.”

MCU TRUCK INT: The truck door opens and we see his master throw a set of jumper cables in the back.

MASTER: “Sorry bout that, Bruno. Looks like he’s gonna need a new starter.”

CUT TO CU OF DOG:

DOG: “Whatever, can we go now?”

ANNCR: Caring for your car is not a job, it’s a passion.

MUSIC UP: That’s the Bumper-to-Bumper Way.
