I’m always in search of new stimuli. I studied Arabic and Hindu at University and I have a passion for tattoos because it’s an art form. I really like to express myself through images and color. I’ve got butterflies going across my shoulder. To me a butterfly is a symbol of freedom. I like to shape my persona and decide who I want to be and how I want to be that individual.
Riding says that I make my own decisions. I remember when I was younger thinking, I wished I could ride a motorcycle, but I didn’t. Then I realized that when I was a passenger on my mom’s scooter that I was afraid because I couldn’t really use my legs to control the moped. So now, it’s the opposite. I am on top of things when I ride my bike. I am managing it and confident in myself.
I think sometimes people see a woman on a bike and it conjures up sort of a rebellious, bad girl image, which is not what I want to project. I wouldn’t call myself a rebel, but I’ve always wanted to project a certain image of myself. And I think we live in a society where being an individual is kind of a rebellious act but in a positive way that is also inspiring for other people. But there’s also people who see a woman riding a motorcycle and think “oh damn, that’s really cool.”
I really don’t want to necessarily stand out, but my bike is part of me and I would feel deprived of my own identity if anyone has it. I like to explain my bike. It’s like how I like to explain my tattoos. I think it’s nice to unveil your mystery and the rationale behind your choices, rather than be obvious about it.
I mean I, I don’t dig speed. I, I like to enjoy the experience, the cruising experience.
