DELIVERY: Warm, inspirational (not sappy) and professional
audience: professional nursing caregivers and administrators for elderly & disabilities.
Throughout history, long term care has strived to help the nation’s most vulnerable people.
Nursing homes and assisted living facilities have continually answered an increasing demand for the care of our nation’s elderly and individuals with disabilities.
Since 1949, the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living has been devoted to representing high quality, high-performing facilities.

As the number of facilities across the country increased, AHCA/NCAL realized the importance of developing a systematic approach to promote the development of high-quality facilities.
In 1996, AHCA/NCAL established the Quality Award Program to guide and support facilities on their path to performance excellence.

The Quality Award Program embodies exceptional quality standards based on the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.
The program encourages providers, owners/operators, and staff to continually learn and improve their business approaches to best meet the needs of the millions of Americans who require their services every day.

The Quality Award program has three progressive step levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Bronze Recipients demonstrate their commitment to the quality improvement journey.
Silver Recipients have implemented the principles of the Baldrige criteria and are able to provide an assessment of their systematic approaches and performance measures. Silver recipients show good results in a number of key performance areas.
The prestigious Gold Award is earned by those facilities that have demonstrated exceptional performance over time and meet the Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence.

The Heart of the Program: The People
Our Quality Award recipients are in no way ordinary. They are a remarkable group of leaders in the long term and post-acute care profession. And these individuals are not only leaders in their profession, but they are paving a path of success in the journey to quality care.

This year, AHCA/NCAL awarded over 400 organizations with Bronze, Silver or Gold awards.
Each and every facility honored today has earned the profession’s recognition and respect.
Please join us in celebrating this remarkable group of leaders as they are rewarded for their steadfast dedication to the quality journey.
Congratulations to the 2012 AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Recipients
