Animated Informational Video
This is an animated (cartoon-ish) video detailing a pilot program for Resource Recovery "recycling" that will be held in a northern California community. Its purpose is to inform the public about the program - why the city is participating, how the program will work, the benefits for the city, and the potential benefits for other communities if the pilot is successful. It will be seen by a wide range of audiences and ages. The tone should be informative but not pedantic - more fun and enthusiastic about being a part of a "big thing."

Can a purple bag change the way we think about waste collection?

Citrus Heights, California, is going to find out.

This is the way most communities handle their waste:

There’s garbage that typically goes from households and businesses to landfills.

And there are recycling options for glass, metals, papers, and some plastics.

But many of the plastics going to landfills can be re-used again, too.

That’s where The Energy Bag comes in.

This three-month pilot will test how we can collect these different household plastics – the kind you’ve always just thrown away – in order to re-use them … as new energy resources.

Here’s how it works: Everything you’ve always recycled keeps going in your blue recycle cart. But now, all of these plastic items can be collected in your purple Energy Bag. Simply rinse the items clean and put them in the Energy Bag.
Just remember: If it’s plastic … If you don’t bin it, bag it.
