As a native Texan, Angela Braly grew up loving the south.

One of 5 children, her parents encouraged learning, humility, and the importance of realizing one’s potential in a world filled with possibilities.

Angela chose to stay in her home state to attend college at Texas Tech which became the launching pad for a career filled with possibilities.

After completing her law degree, Angela became a partner in the St. Louis firm of Lewis, Rice, and Fingersh. From there she joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri as General Counsel, eventually becoming that company’s president.

On June 1, 2007, Angela became President and CEO of WellPoint, the nation’s largest health care company.
