Alpha Zero Script - Campaign 1
Characters/Important Things Commander Bishop - The player. Thatfs you!
Alpha Zero - The playerfs ship, which is an experimental UEA prototype that hasnft been finished.
Ivy (Integrated Vehicle Intelligence) - The Alpha Zerofs artificial intelligence. Tutorial info/help. Admiral Carson - Head of the UEA Task force in the Cronas Sector. Your boss.
United Earth Alliance (UEA) - Earthfs military, which you are a member of.
Varcon - Evil alien race attacking you and the UEA.
Fitzroy - Only survivor of Research Station Hydra. He adds new weapons and upgrades to the Alpha Zero.
Intro Cutscene/Cards
Card 1 - Varcon Attack on Cronas Sector
Image - Varcon fighters tearing apart United Earth Alliance ships. Itfs a massacre. Text
Fighter Pilot: gItfs the Varcon! Wefre under attack! Theyfre everywhere, pull ba-h (cut off by an explosion)
Card 2 - Space Frigate Under Attack
Image - Commander Bishop (the player) and Admiral Carson on a starship bridge, hanging on as the ship is pounded.
Admiral Carson: gThey must be after the prototype.h
Bishop: gHow could they know about it? We havenft even finished building it yet!h
Admiral Carson: gDoesnft matter now. We canft let Alpha Zero fall into the Varconfs hands, Bishop. Get out of here. Ifll buy you as much time as I can.h
Card 3 - The Alpha Zero

Bishop: gIfm not sure whofs crazier: him trying to hold off an entire Varcon fleet, or me flying this half-baked science project into a war zone.h
Card 4 - Blast Out of Hangar Bay

Bishop: gHere goes nothing.h
Mission 1
The Alpha Zero flies onto the screen.
(the following are dialogue boxes that pop up, similar to what is currently in-game. Each will have a picture, the characterfs name, and their dialogue)
Bishop: Alright, letfs see what shape wefre in.
(sound effects of computers/machines starting up)
Ivy: Integrated Vehicle Intelligence online, how may I assist you Commander? Bishop: Ivy, run a system diagnostic.
Ivy: Most of our core systems are not functional:
œ Impulse Engines - inactive, power cell required
œ Vulcan Cannon - inactive, power cell required
œ Secondary Weapon - not installed
œ Shield Generator - not installed
œ Scanner - inactive, power cell required
œ Life Support - functional
œ Warp Engines- inactive, power cell required
Bishop: Those drones should contain some power cells. Reroute power from life support to the Vulcan Cannon.
Ivy: Rerouting power. Hold your breath.
Ivy: You may fire when ready, Commander.
(player blows up drones)
Ivy: Rerouting power to Impulse Engines.
(player collects energy)
Ivy: Additional power cells activated. Main systems online. Short Range Scanners activated. Communications activated.
Admiral Carson: This is Admiral Carson to all remaining UEA forces. Retreat to rally point 397- (massive explosion sound)
Bishop: Admiral? Carson, come in!
Ivy: Admiral Carsonfs capital ship has been destroyed.
Ivy: ...Commander, scanners are showing incoming enemy fighters headed our way.
Varcon Squad Leader: Looks like we have a few stragglers that made it out of the command ship. Alpha and Beta Squadrons, do a sweep and finish these vermin off.
(the section between these two lines is an optional tutorial for explaining the money that drops from enemies. If you don't like/want it, just omit this section and skip to the first dialogue after this part.)

(player fights first wave of enemies. The last one drops a money pick up)
Bishop: Whatfs that?
Ivy: Precious metals left over from a Varcon fighter. We could use that to buy upgrades for the Alpha Zero and expand our capabilities.
(player fights first few waves)
Ivy: Commander, that is an enemy supply cube. If you blast it open, we should be able to salvage supplies from it.
(player fights off more waves of fighters, then)
Ivy: Massive energy signature detected. Capital ship approaching.
Varcon Squad Leader: Looks like we found a human who can actually fight back. (boss flies onto screen)
Ivy: That is a Varcon battlecruiser. I will mark any weak points I can find.
Varcon Squad Leader: Ifll have to deal with you personally.
Bishop: You can try...
(play fights and defeats boss)
Varcon Squad Leader: Gaaaaaaaaaaaah!
(boss ship explodes)
Bishop: Ivy, scan for survivors.
Ivy: Scanning...
Ivy: No active lifeforms remain in area, Commander. ...Ifm sorry.
Bishop: ...
Ivy: Commander?
Bishop: Letfs get out of here.

The Alpha Zero flies onto the screen.
Bishop: Therefs no end to these guys.
Mission 2
Ivy: Warning. Approaching asteroid field. Calculating alternate escape vectors.
Bishop: Donft strain your processing core, Ivy. I have an idea.
Ivy: Commander, are you-
Bishop: Hang on Ivy, things are about to get a little rocky.
(player fights through asteroids and basic waves of fighters.)
Bishop: Thatfs odd, the asteroids have disappeared. Have we already passed through the entire field?
Ivy: Asteroids no longer detected. Only atomized trace elements of asteroid field remain.
Bishop: Atomized? The weapons to do that would have to be enormous. Therefs something else out here. Something with a lot of firepower.
Varcon Karak Cruiser: Something that will make short work of you, human. Ivy: Massive energy signal detected. Capital ship approaching.
(boss flies onto screen)
Bishop: Thatfs a scorpion class ship! This should be interesting...
(player fights and defeats boss)
Varcon Karak Cruiser: Nooooooo, my beautiful ship! (boss explodes)
Ivy: Warp jump point detected, altering course.
Mission 3
(the transmissions are clear enough now from the Hydra station that we can make out FITZROY in the text boxes now)
Fitzroy: Our defenses are down and the Varcon are punching holes in the upper levels. Is anyone out there?
Ivy: The asteroids are causing too much interference. We canft send a transmission. Bishop: Then wefll have to get clear of these rocks now, wonft we?
(player completes level, then)
Ivy: Asteroid field clear. Signal link established.
Bishop: Research Station Hydra, this is Commander Bishop of the UEA. Can you read me?
Fitzroy: Oh thank God. Give me your fleetfs com IDs and Ifll plot a jump point thatfll bring you right on top of the station.
Bishop: No fleet, Ifm afraid. Itfs just me.
Fitzroy: One ship?! Therefs an entire Varcon armada tearing this base apart! Fitzroy: ...But Ifll take any help I can get. Uploading coordinates now.
Ivy: Coordinates received. Engaging Impulse Engines.
The Alpha Zero flies onto the screen.
Mission 4
Varcon Wing Leader: UEA fighter detected. Scramble fighters.
Varcon Dreadnaught: One ship canft save them. Their Hydra base is lost.
(player fights through all of the basic enemies)
Ivy: Massive energy signal detected. Capital ship approaching.
Varcon Dreadnaught: Impressive, but meaningless. Your race is doomed, human. The Varcon shall wipe your species from the stars.
(player defeats boss)
Varcon Dreadnaught: Destroyed by a human. How embarrassing. (the boss explodes)
Fitzroy: Holy hell, you actually did it. What kind of ship is that? Bishop: A ship that needs repairs. Badly.
Fitzroy: Gotcha. Opening bay 12. Come on in.

Closing Cutscene/Cards
Card 1 - Alpha Zero Lands, Bishop and Fitroy Meet

Card 3 - Varcon Emperor
Image - The Varcon Emperorfs head fills the screen. A burning Earth is behind him. Text
Varcon Emperor: gThe Varcon claim the Solar System and the humanfs capital of Earth for the glory of the empire. Your fleets lay in ruin. Your world burns. Cease your pitiful retaliations before we expunge your filthy race from existence.h
Bishop: gHow did they get Earth?h
Fitzroy: gThatfs not the worst of it. Look at this.h
Card 4 - Sun Harvester
Image - An enormous machine is being constructed around the sun. Part of it juts out, and into the sunfs core.
Bishop: gWhat is that thing?h
Fitzroy: gI have no idea. But the Varcon are notorious energy pirates. And our sun is basically just a giant ball of plasma energy.h
Fitzroy: gIf they find a way to drain it...h
Card 5 - Hero Shot of Bishop
