Project Main Details

Alabama Native American Documentary
We are looking for a narrator for a short documentary film that we are producing for a Native American museum in southern Alabama. Our client is very firm that the narrator of this film must come across as if they could be from the community, a rural southern Alabama town. Please see the attached sample file for an example of the specific accent.

We are looking for an engaging, conversational style of narration, with an educational rather than commercial sound. The sample audition script excerpts come from three different sections of the film.

We have a quick turnaround on this project, so availability to record in the next 1-2 weeks is a must.

Hello, welcome to Poarch! Welcome to our home.
Ours is a vibrant nation – one that has endured for generations. It is said that a single reed is fragile by itself, but when bound with others, it gathers strength. Today, we are preserving our cultural heritage - teaching our traditions and reviving our native arts.

But in the late 1700s a new power emerged--the United States—and it wanted something we had: land.
In turbulent times, it is hard to live quietly.
American settlers clamored for more and more land. In response, some Indians began arming themselves for resistance. They became known as the Red Sticks.

As the twentieth century dawned, our ancestors found themselves increasingly isolated because of their Indian heritage. We couldn’t attend the same schools as whites, and weren’t allowed to ride in the same buses.
One morning, Jack Daughtry stood in the path of the school bus and demanded his children to be let on board. His act of courage sparked a successful lawsuit that gave our children equal access to education.
