Silent Threat: Reborn is an 18-mission expansion pack for the videogame FreeSpace 2. The story concerns two races, the Terrans (humans) and Vasudans (aliens), who have allied together to fight a war against the xenocidal Shivans (even more alien aliens). That war has been won, at great cost, but a shadowy Terran government organization is conspiring behind the scenes. While the Terrans are recovering from the war, this organization is maneuvering to overthrow the galactic government. The object of the expansion pack is to uncover the conspiracy and defeat it.
Admiral Marcus Glaive is the commanding officer of the GTD Repulse. In his early 40s, Glaive rose through the ranks quickly in the latter half of the Terran-Vasudan War, distinguishing himself in numerous engagements as a brilliant tactical leader and unconventional thinker. His flexibility and ability to adapt to widely different circumstances allowed the GTA to turn several seemingly certain defeats into victories over the course of his command. Glaive is "in his element" as leader of Research and Development, a position which allows him to explore new tactics and technologies to the fullest.
Admiral Glaive is one of the primary architects of the rebellion, although the player doesn't know that at first. His part in the story is similar to Alec Trevelyan (006) in GoldenEye: you think he's on your side, until it becomes clear that he's not. As such, his voice should have a subtle Machiavellian touch to it.
The raw text for this role totals a little less than one page at 12pt font. The associated files show the raw text as well as the role in the context of the overall annotated script.
This is an all-volunteer project; every member is working on a pro-bono basis, including voice actors. We can unfortunately offer no tangible compensation, but we can offer compensation in other ways. This expansion pack is highly anticipated within the FreeSpace community, and voice actors will be prominently featured in the game's credits. This role is an excellent opportunity to increase your exposure as well as add to the diversity of your voice acting portfolio. We will, of course, be delighted to provide you with a copy of the finished product upon its release. We are not here to provide assistance, Admiral, nor are we interfering. We are here to retrieve the pods. Command has ordered us to ensure their safe and immediate transportation to Beta Aquilae. Your involvement is no longer required.
Nevertheless, the orders stand. You will transfer the second escape pod from your hangar bay to ours immediately.
