Project Main Details

Aaron Story 2
Young, active and athletic, Aaron suffered a stroke. His life was changed forever. He has undergone physical therapy in the recovery of his speech and motor skills, but suffered vision loss on the right side of his vision. As part of his low vision rehabilitation, he is fitted with prism glasses, taught to use peripheral vision better, and uses reading guides. He can now maintain his active lifestyle, biking with his kids.

Tell the story from the character's perspective. Conversational, real, and intimate, but not over-dramatized. In the beginning of the script, Aaron is discouraged and disheartened. But his outlook changes with low vision rehabilitation. The characters voice should turn hopeful toward the end of the read.

Script Details

Sample script below provided by the voice seeker for auditions.
I was young, active and athletic, but I didn’t know that doesn’t always have everything to do with your risk of stroke.

Afterwards — and I wasn’t even aware of it! — I wasn’t seeing anything that was in the right half of my visual field.

With work, my speech and the full use of my arm could come back. But with half my vision missing, I felt like my life was cut in half.

I battled depression. I hid out in my office. Then my wife talked me into visiting a vision loss support group. And it was pointed out to me by somebody whose vision loss was a lot worse than mine that my glass was half-full, not half-empty.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
