Project Main Details

We would like to find male voice talent who would play the part of the narrator in a book trailer we are putting together to promote a romance novel set in the Regency period in England (1800 - 1825). The narrator's voice should be British male, and sound as if it's very high society - which is the setting the book takes place in. Script Details

***Please keep in mind for your audition that your British narrator sample should sound very high society***
Opening Card: The newest and most powerful novel yet from Mary Balogh, The New York Times bestselling author.
Images are in a photorealistic style to inspire the feeling of oil portrait imagery with lovely modern models.
VISUAL / Portrait of Reginald

VO: Reginald Mason is wealthy, refined and by all accounts a gentleman. However not a gentleman by birth, a factor that pains him and his father.

REGINALD “It would seem that our fathers have arranged our marriage Lady Annabelle”
VISUAL / Annabelle Ashton

VO: When an opportunity for social advancement arises, namely, Lady Annabelle Ashton, Daughter of the Earl of Havercroft a neighbor and enemy of the Mason family, Annabelle finds herself disgraced by a scandal, one that has left her branded as damaged goods.

REGINALD “Yes, and yet only a week ago you were so determined to marry someone else that you ran off with him. Your father’s coachman, I understand, what was his name?”
ANNABELLE: “Thomas Till, I would guess it’s still his name. “
REGINALD “Till, You would have enjoyed being Mrs. Anabelle Till?”
VISUAL / The couple standing with the English countryside beyond them.

VO Besmirched by shame, the earl is only too happy to marry Annabelle off to anyone willing to have her.

ANNABELLE “Far more than I will enjoy Annabelle Mason I daresay”
REGINALD “You lament this departure from your life then?
VISUAL / The couple with their backs facing each other.

VO Though Reginald’s father wishes to use Annabelle to propel his family up the social ladder, his son does not wish to marry her, preferring instead to live the wild single life he is accustomed to.

ANNABELLE “My decision to elope was a mistake, rash and impulsive. It was rash and impulsive.
REGINALD “You are impulsive by nature then? And rash and fickle?”
VISUAL / They pose Annabelle’s arms crossed her cheeks flush Reginald looking on bemused.

VO: With this Mr. Mason serves an ultimatum: Marry Annabelle, or make do without family funds.

ANNABELLE “I have heard – That you need a whole extra room for all your clothes and that your gambling debts are high enough to finance a small country. Are you weak-willed by nature? And irresponsible and foppish.”
VISUAL / Reginald has his arms crossed and it’s Annabelle who is sitting composed

VO: Having no choice Reginald consents and enters into an engagement in which the bride and groom are openly antagonistic, each one resenting the other for their current state of affairs while they revel in their suffering.

REGINALD “I fear your informant may be prone to exaggeration – but should we reserve the insults for later, after we are married…Our parents must be waiting with some anxiety to hear of the outcome of this private matter.”
ANNABELLE “I have not heard you offer me marriage yet. And I certainly have not accepted that offer.”
VISUAL / Both Reginald and Annabelle facing off.

VO - So begins an intoxicating tale rife with dark secrets, deception and the trails of love – a story in which little is as it seems.
