Project Main Details

A House Divided
I produce satirical videos for atheists, agnostics and free-thinkers. See examples at: **********************************************

This specific project tackles the issue of "denominations" within the church.

I'm looking for a rich, alto female who sounds authoritative, but also has a sly wit and can toss out some subtle sarcasm.

Obviously, this project isn't for everyone. But if the subject matter doesn't offend you, please audition. Many thanks.

Script Details

I'm looking for a rich, alto female who sounds authoritative, but also has a sly wit and can toss out some subtle sarcasm.
Abraham Lincoln famously said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” And what example of unity could be greater than the church…the literal house of God.

The largest “house” in the world today is the Roman Catholic Church, which believes in the special authority of the Pope, intercession on our behalf by saints, purgatory, sacraments, and praying to Jesus’ mom. Catholicism came in really handy when people wanted to live however they wanted, and just reboot with a priest every few days to get a clean slate.

However, Martin Luther, the german monk of the 1500s, disagreed on much of this. He believed man was saved by grace and faith in Jesus Christ himself. So he “divided” himself from the Catholic church, and, naturally, was excommunicated and endured threats on his life while founding the Lutherans. Today, American Lutherans are “divided” into several major church bodies, the largest being the ELCA and the LCMS, and they spend significant amounts of time arguing whether it’s ok to allow homosexuals to join.
