Public Lead - 9640184 - Voice over needed for cartoon characters

Need the voices for a family of mice for an audio story scenario. Target listener is 3 to 7 year old children. Be careful not to talk down to your audience. Characters include Father, Mother, 9yo boy 7yo girl, grandma, grandpa, and a rogue airplane pilot name Nigel. All are mice. Please audition with attached script only. You may read for more than one character, but please state what character you’re reading for. This is a small project DEMO presentation for a very large international Toy Company. Project is currently on a shoestring budget, so please be kind with your quote – remember: this is just a demo. Know that there is the potential for possible future work, if the project gets picked up. Please no time compressed or pitch-shifted voices. I want to hear your character interpretation of mice living like people in a real world.

• Mom is a mouse scientist. She is neat and methodical; everything has a place in this world. She is warm, loving and nurturing to her family and all living things.
This is very upsetting.” Said mother. “I had some very special things in that purple suitcase of mine.”
“It’s a purple suitcase with rolley wheels on the bottom. I do hope it isn’t lost.”
“Thank you for getting my suitcase back, Nigel.”
“In my bag, I have the gifts I brought back for you from my trip.”
“I don’t believe it! Sharing a fig? What has happened to my son while I was away?”
• Dad is a mouse artist. He is a musician, a craftsman, a dramatist, an idealist. He does things with flair ñ and some mess. He wants everything to be home made!
“I’ve got a surprise for you - now you have to guess. They are fresh out of the oven. They are delicious. They rhyme with puffins…with bits of blue…
“She’ll be tired after the flight, so you and your brother can help me make dinner when we get back from the airport.”
“See that tower? That’s the control tower. That’s where they check the weather to make sure it’s safe to fly, and tell the pilots when it’s clear to take off or to land. They talk on special radios to the pilots in the airplanes
• Sister 9 years old. She is an athlete. She is a gymnast and fiercely determined on all goals she sets for herself. She believes she can accomplish anything if she sets her mind to it.
“Let’s go get your baggage from the Carousel. Don’t ride on it! Not unless you want to get bopped on the head by an incoming suitcase.”
“We can help! We’re good at looking for things. Please Momma, can we help Nigel?”
“There it is! Down there in the middle of that lettuce patch.”
“You know, little brother, sometimes you have to sacrifice something you love for the good of others.”
• Brother – 7 years old. He is a showman and a promoter. He is always introducing the next wonder of the world.
“You can make a sailboat, Grandpapa?”
“Blueberry muffins! Yum-Tastic!!”
“I see it! Yeah! It’s so far away it looks like a tiny toy plane.”
“You’re gonna use your Blueberry Muffin as bait?! But you’ve been saving it all day…”
“I’ll keep track of the bags as we find them, and make a little mark on the paper.”
(to himself) “I’m the master window looker-througher!”
• Grandpa doesn’t remember much. He loves to help do with chores, homework, or anything that anyone needs. He has to keep his hands busy or he naps.
“Airplanes!” he grunted. “In my day we walked. We walked or we took a piece of bark and a few leaves and made a sailboat.”
“Darn Tootin’ I can make a sailboat! With my bare hands and a piece of string! I sailed across the Mighty Mississippi back when it was still called ‘The Big Water.’ I remember is was a stormy day…”
• Grandma is mysterious and magical. She has traveled everywhere and has unbelievable stories to tell.
“Nice move, Sasha!”
“You be careful on those airplanes.”
“Your little brother looks up to you. It is your job to be a true mouse of character and show him the proper way.”
• Nigel is a lanky mouse wearing boots, a leather jacket, and a cap with goggles resting on his forehead. He reminds us of a World War I flying Ace. His face is dirty, except for around his eyes, because he wears goggles on dusty adventures. He is completely likeable, but confident.
“Nigel Rutherford the Third, at your service. Lost some luggage, have you? Well, I’m your mouse. The Rutheford’s have been flying for three generations, on both sides of the Atlantic and often above it, as we say. Ha ha. When I’m not flying secret missions for her majesty’s royal air force I recover lost luggage. I daresay I’m the best there is.” Please Provide Related Demo
