Public Lead - 9468446 - Voice overs needed for cartoon series trailer
9468446
Hello,
we're working on the trailer of a cartoon series of 12 episodes. We are now on the trailer used only to show the cartoon to producers.
We need the voice for 1 children (MATI, a girl) 8 years old and one weird character (DAD, object/puppet...), plus one old man PICASSO the painter.
Therefore, we need one voice actress and one voice actor. The actress will perform the children, the actor will perform the object and the old man (the painter picasso, little spanish accent): it is about 20 lines esch, to be performed in sync with original italian.
You will inspire for the voice over acting, to the italian version, but it would be much better if we can direct you through skype. We need voice example for casting.
see the voice acting script. We need a price. Consider that this will not be broadcasted, it is just fortrade an marketing use.

MATI’ E DADA’ - DISCOVERING PICASSO THE PAINTER
PILOT 3’

SCRIPT

OPENING CREDITS
Accompanying music

Scene 1
Mati is in the living room. He is on a ladder placed against a bookcase intent in searching for a book beginning with the letter “P”.

MATI
“Pellicans from Perù”, “Pizza with patatoes”, “Patient piranhas”

Suddenly, Dadà hurtles himself into the room, bumping into the bookcase causing the shelves to spin round at an incredible speed.

DADÀ
Dadazoom! Dadavroom! Dadabip-bip!

Mati desperately trying to hang on

MATI
Ohhh! Careful Dadà!

DADÀ ( sorry)
Oops…!

Mati, after some cart-wheels, falls onto the ground with a book on her head, which she grabs and starts to browse.

MATI
Hey, it’s a book on Picasso!

DADA’
Dada-Picasso?

MATI (browsing through the book)
Look how pretty it is: this one’s entitled THE THREE MUSICIANS.

Dadà stops the watering-can with one of his paintbrushes and moves closer to the book.

DADÀ
Musicians, dadazum dadazum!

Scene 2 (A close up of the painting in the book)

Inititally the painting is without colour.
Then the colours start to appear one after an other bringing it to life: the muscians start playing a rambling concert: Pierrot is playing the flute, Harlequin is playing the violin.
The monk adjusts his paper mask and is dancing.
It’ s a Spanish sounding concert, a bit lopsided.

Scene 3 (Back to the living room with the two leading characters)
Dadà improvizes a dance spinning round the watering-can, his glasses nearly falling off while playing his paintbrushes as if they were castanets. Mati dumbfounded by what is happening before him.

MATI
Hey, what’s going on?

Scene 3 bis The figures start dancing around, the pieces which make up the bodies keep sticking and unsticking as if they were a decoupage.

Scene 3 ter Dadà opens up his spyglass and starts examining the painting.

DADÀ
Dadafunny! Let’s go!

While Mati plays with her plaits, Dadà actions ( subground picture-express) with one of his brushes: he and Mati step into the painting.

Scene 4 (the painting in full picture)
Now Mati and Dadà are in the painting, in front of the three muscians that are performing their last gay note after which they bow for an applause. Then they exit through a door until then secret.
Mati and Dadà follow them.

Scene 5 ( Picasso’s atelier)
The musicians, Mati and Dadà end up in a room in which a funny man is painting.
The musicians disappear into the paintings, under the bed, inside the books.
The room is Picasso’s atelier, and the man busy painting is the great artist.

MATI
Incredibile Dadà: it’s (really) Picasso himself!

DADÀ
Picasso?! Dadaurca!

Picasso is absorbed in his work and is sketching a Harlequin with extraordinary speed. (picasso oo2. jpg)

MATI
He’s fast, isn’t he, Dadà?

DADÀ
Super -fast, Mati!

Scene 6 (close up of Picasso at work)
The Harlequin has been drawn with a single uninterrupted line.

PICASSO
Stop that: oooooooplà!

The Harlequin is finished in a dash and Picasso starts admiring it with satisfaction.

Scene 7 (Picasso’s atelier: the three protagonists are all in sight)
Mati is clapping her hands.

MATI
Bravo Monsieur Picasso, excellent!

Picasso bows to his admirers.
Dadà slightly envious nears his brush to the painting.

DADÀ
Bah, drawing is so easy: I can do it too!

With the tip of his top, he starts whirling around doodling on a gigantic sheet of paper, resulting in a messy drawing made up of lines without any sense.
Picasso laughs.

PICASSO
Simple things are the most difficult, my dear friend:
I’ve spent all my life learning how to do simple things.

Dadà paints over his messy lines using his brushes.

DADÀ
All your life?! Wow and dadawow!

Meantime Mati walks towards a canvas hung on the wall, she is perplexed.

MATI
Who is this?

PICASSO
This is a portrait of Dora Maar

MATI
Sorry, Monsieur Picasso: which way is she looking?

PICASSO
Forward and side ways at the same time.

Mati leans her head to one side. Dadà starts playing with his top and spins round fast on the wall all around the painting.

MATI
Aren’t her eyes wrong?

PICASSO
No, they’re not wrong: it’s cubism my dear girl.
I wanted to show the profile of her face and the front together. Get it?

MATI
Ehm yeah… I mean no… You see, to be honest…

While Mati is talking, Dadà’s eye zooms in on the frontal view of the face and then on the profile.
Then the top whirls around Mati, looking at it first straight then sideways. She’s perplexed: with her spyglass she zooms on one of Mati’s eyes first facing the front then sideways.

MATI
What are you doing Dadà?

DADÀ
One eye looks forward the other sideways…

Dadà pulls a silly face inhis attempt to look in two different directions.
Cross-eyed and very embarassed, dizzy on the tip of his top he stumbles on a canvas.
Actioning involuntarily the (subground picture-express ): Picasso’s atelier disappears

Scene 8 (Matì and Dadà’s room)
Mati and Dadà are back in their living room, in front of the bookcase.

Mati pulls herself up from the floor with the book on Picasso in her hand.

MATI
Did see how cool Dadà?! Picasso was a painter who did very simple things and yet very beautiful.

DADÀ
Dadasimple things very difficult and dadabeautiful things front and sideways.

Mati takes a piece of blank paper out of a drawer.

MATI
What to you reackon Dadà: Why don’t we try too?

Dadà paints a red and black cat on Mati’s blank piece of paper using his brush-arms.
DADÀ
Sure: Mati and Dadà can do portaits like Picasso too!

And so he moves towards the “Ricombiner”, and shoves his drawing down its throat.

DADÀ
With Ricombiner’s help!

The Ricombiner starts moving around akwardly: Mati opens wide her eyes, Dadà is much amused. Suddenly whistling it comes to a halt and spits out the drawing.
Mati picks it up and shows it to Dadà giggling.
The cat in the drawing has been rimodelled in the cubist manner, with one eye looking forward and the other looking sideways, etc.

MATI
Bravo Dadà, just like Picasso!

DADÀ
Dadà-wow! Again!…

The episode closes with a shot of two laughing and the signature tune.
The ricombiner spits out cubist paintings one after the other: a cubist dog, a cubist horse, a cubist bird, etc…
During wich time Mati has cut and glued pieces of paper: composing a cubist portrait of Dadà.
